How a blazer should fit

Shoulders first, then the sleeve, then the waist — what to look for when you try one on.

A blazer is fitted from the shoulder down. If the shoulder is wrong, nothing below it can be put right.

The shoulder

The seam should sit at the edge of your shoulder bone, with no dent below it and no overhang.

The sleeve

Let your arms hang: the cuff should end where your wrist meets your hand, so a little of a shirt cuff shows.

The waist

On a double-breasted cut like the Vionne, fasten the inner button and look for a clean line with no pull across the front.
